The 39th Annual Shamrock Run took place on Sunday, March 19th. It is the largest run/walk in Oregon and the third largest run in the western United States. Over 30,000 people participated in this year's Shamrock Run.
A man with a unicorn cape runs in the 15K race. Many people ran their races wearing outrageous hats and costumes.
A pair of bagpipers play near the finish line. Although the Irish do play an instrument very similar to the bagpipes, the instruments that these men have are actually Scottish bagpipes.

Amanda Rice, 32, crosses the finish line of the 15K race. Rice was the fifth female finisher, finishing the race with a time of 57:46.

A man breathes heavily after crossing the finish line in the 15K race. His face seems to echo what is written on his shirt.
A man holds up peace signs after completing the 15K. Many people celebrated as they crossed the finish line.
Todd Pendell, 49, of McMinnville celebrates as he crosses the finish line of the 5K race. Pendell wore gloves during the race, which was a good decision. It was cold and breezy for the 5K race, with temperatures in the mid 40s.

A volunteer passes out water to the finishers. Hundreds of volunteers completed various tasks such as cheering on runners, directing runners on the course, handing out medals, and passing out water.
Volunteers prepare to hand out medals to finishers. Every person who finished the 15K and half marathon received a medal.
A man who has just finished the 15K race holds on to a box of Voodoo Donuts, a favorite in Portland.

A man wearing a beer hat waits in line after finishing the 15K race. Every participant received a 12-ounce pour of Widmer Brothers Beer after they finished the race.
The Shamrock Run helps showcase Portland's diversity with a wide variety of people participating in the event. However, despite their differences, they all share a love for running... and beer. Additionally, as can be seen here, they share similar facial expressions at the finish line.
